Saving bangka
Hi guys, I hope everything is well for all of you! Recently I had a client who printed some tshirts to spread awareness of saving bangka island from miners in North Sulawesi. Checkout her website: http://www.savebangkanorthsulawesi.org/

New toy!
Can't wait to go for our next dive...but unfortunately, the monsoon season has arrived.
In the meantime, check out our new toy! From the first dive, we realized the Canon S95 camera by itself can't do the underwater world justice, especially the amazing tiny creatures. So....ta da! A new set of macro lens and strobe (Inon S-2000) :D
Love the compact size of the strobe...anyone interested, here's the link:
http://www.inon.jp/products/strobe/s2000/top.html. Inon carries the macro lens as well.
REALLY looking forward to our Feb dive trip!

Manado Cocotinos Resort (indonesia)
Woohoo!! Hi everyone, my wife (hy) and I took up our open water dc with Douglas from scuba dog. Anyone like hunky dive instructor, please leave a message, I can hook you up. Oh, the course was very personalized, interesting, stress free, fun and most of all, it's safe! (that's the pool session I'm talking about :P)
Before we join any boat dives, we had to sign a disclaimer and release of liability agreement. Is it safe? You decide.
Diving gears! I did much research online and I found Leisure Pro. They have a very good range of equipments at a very reasonable price. Delivery and service was very prompt too. Shipment within US is free, but too bad i didnt get to enjoy that privilege.
Fully equipped, we booked our first trip through Douglas, We took a 3.5 hrs flight via Silkair to reach Manado airport, which was just 20 mins away from the Cocotinos Resort. I was quite impressed with the warm service; they really made us feel at home.
Day 1: we had a short pool session before heading for our first dive at the house reef. Before we know it, our equipments was already rigged up by the boat crew (some service huh). My sister Sel joined us and we chartered a private dive boat. Woohoo!!! Here's a picture of my favorite dive master wearing a t-shirt that says "born to dive" back print "forced to work!" hilarious!
First dive at Posi Posi (i thought it was pussy pussy or a spot for pussy divers)...and the visibility was over 30meters!! wow!! It was exciting yet easy and both of us was very comfortable underwater. It was a sandy bottom at 12m and as we ascended to the shallows, there were many fishes and corals. Honestly, I wasn't really looking at the fishes; I was watching out for sea urchins because of the terrible encounter Sel had in Thailand with sea urchins. She had one of the sharp spikes pierced through her palm! Ouch! That would risk attracting the sharks. But surprising, I only spotted one hidden within some corals.
Day 2: we headed for a famous place called Bunaken Island. It's a wall dive! wooo....we had to pay about $10sgd for the marine park fees. Clarity was superb!
Day 3: First dive was at Bunaken Timur 2 to see the giant clams and feed some fishes with watermelon. On our last dive, we were treated to see pygmy seahorse at a specific spot near posi posi. It wasn't easy at all as we have to fight the strong current to reach it.
Day 4: we had a good breakfast, cleared our emails and started packing semi wet gears. 4 days 3 nights at manado was way too short! There were too many things I want to see. I'll be back in Feb!!!
